Novelty search conducted by patent attorney in patent and non-patent literature databases for preliminary examination of patentability of an invention. The search includes both industrial property applications and publications in order to identify and analyze solutions relevant to the invention.
Novelty search related to R&D projects, is carried out regularly from the project design phase onwards, iterated in the light of R&D results, with the aim of leading to new, cutting-edge and legally clear results for successful knowledge transfer. An essential element of the search is the prompt availability/direct involvement of patent attorneys, flexibility, participation in project progress meetings on a regular basis.
Search in industrial property databases to identify possible relevant hits conducted by patent attorney. The search needs to examine whether the commercial exploitation of the product may conflict with existing rights of third parties, such as patents, i.e. whether a dispute may arise if said product enters the market.
