Zsófia Kacsuk, PhD
European and Hungarian patent attorney
Zsófia has more than 20 years of experience as a patent attorney with a degree in physics and law, currently managing a portfolio of hundreds of patents, trademarks and designs. She takes a complex approach to the whole innovation process from the inception of an idea, assisting not only in obtaining protection but also in licensing agreements, in opposing patents and other protection of competitors and in litigating possible infringement cases. She started his career as a patent attorney immediately after graduating from university, passing the Hungarian patent attorney exam in 2005 with an excellent mark, and in 2008 she was the first in Hungary to pass the European Patent Attorney exam of the European Patent Office. She started her legal studies in 2008 at the Károli Gáspár University, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2013, and in 2014 he obtained a PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Pécs. She spent several years in London as a child, which has given her a near-native command of English. She also speaks German and French at a high level. With ten years of experience in Hungary’s largest patent and trademark offices behind her, she founded KACSUKPATENT European Patent and Trademark Office Ltd. in 2012, of which she is currently the managing partner. She is a member of the Hungarian Chamber of Patent Attorneys, the Hungarian Association for the Protection of Industrial Property, the Hungarian Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright, the Hungarian Trademark Association and the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi).
